Autumn Garden Tour 1 – September 20

Tour 1: Sunday, September 20, 1:30pm to 3:00pm

Early autumn is a crucial time for pollinators—whether they’re starting their fall migration or preparing to overwinter here. It’s also a perfect time to join block ambassador Douglas Counter on a free autumn bloom tour of his established pollinator gardens located near the Etobicoke Civic Centre. Offered on four dates, this 1.5-hour tour includes: choosing and pairing plants for autumn bloom; observing pollinators; enjoying your garden’s exquisite autumn beauty and increasing its habitat value by eliminating traditional autumn clean up; making your garden winter wildlife-friendly; and more.

Douglas brings 29 years of practical experience gardening with native plants to these tours of his species-rich prairie, storm water infiltration boulevard, and woodland gardens—each a beautiful example of functioning habitat.

Each guest will receive a free organic native plant of their choice (4 inch pot) propagated by Douglas from seed collected from his gardens; additional plants will be available for $4 each.
