With the generous support of the Keenan Foundation and the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Project Swallowtail has grown a community of more than 2,500 habitat gardeners across Toronto. Over five years, we have distributed more than 25,000 native plants at low or no cost, delivered school and community workshops, and expanded access to native plants through our work with volunteer Seed Sitters and at the Downsview Park Volunteer Greenhouse. Our Block Ambassadors continue to strengthen neighbourhood-level stewardship, while our Advocacy Committee has become a leading voice on urban biodiversity issues such as pesticide reduction, natural yard bylaws, and pollinator protection. In 2025, we launched a partnership with the Garden Club of Toronto, collaborating on native habitat projects and public education materials. Guided by our dedicated Steering Committee and volunteers, Project Swallowtail continues to build inclusive, connected, and ecologically resilient communities.
