Malvern Resilient Roots

Note: Trees and shrubs are sold out. See the Eventbrite link for details on the plants and seeds
The Seed and Seedling Swap are on May 2 from 1 to 4 pm

This is a time honoured way to increase diversity in your native plant gardens or to add new varieties to your home veggy patch. Please make sure that any plants you bring are free from pests or diseases and carefully inspect any you select before taking them home. NO INVASIVE SPECIES PLEASE! Labels are greatly appreciated — a limited supply of markers and blank tags will be available for your use.

Come visit us in the Garden!

* try your hand at planting early season crops like peas, lettuce, or callaloo
*  learn to make paper pots
* taste some goldenrod jelly, pine needle tea, or freshly dug sun chokes
* visit displays from other environmental groups
* spend some time talking to our expert gardeners and to your neighbours

Sign up to volunteer!

This event is sponsored by the City of Toronto Forestry Department and is operated by the volunteers of the Neilson Park Community Garden with cooperation from the Malvern Family Resource Centre. Your Community Garden provides free, fresh, organic produce to area food banks/social service agencies and to our volunteers tables.

New volunteers are welcomed every Tuesday & Thursday evening and Saturday mornings throughout the growing season — or just drop by and introduce yourself to any volunteer you see in the Garden. We’re always glad to see you and you can tell us how your new additions are faring.
